Chestertown RiverArts is a member-supported, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Chestertown, MD, dedicated to engaging our community in the creation, education, appreciation, and support of the arts. Mission: To be the place where the arts meet the community. Vision: To engage the individual and the community with opportunities to create, learn, and grow through the arts. RiverArts has grown tremendously in the five years following its creation by the merger of two organizations, Chestertown Arts League and Artworks. We are now Kent County’s premier community arts center with four component parts at various High Street locations in Chestertown: our Main Gallery, Studio Gallery, gift shop, and administrative offices; KidSPOT, our children’s creativity center; our Clay Studio, home of pottery classes and open studio; and Arts Alive!, our new adult education center. Our goal is to be a dynamic learning organization through education, exhibits, events, engagement, and enrichment. KidSPOT is a hands-on creative learning center for children ages 2 to 13. It is open free of charge every Saturday morning to kids accompanied by their parents or other responsible adult. We also offer the following: After School Enrichment Program, Monday through Thursday during the school year, Summer Camp Program, consisting of different weekly themed art activities exploring a wide range of media and techniques. Kids in the Gallery, a visual literacy and art appreciation program.
