At the September 4, 2018 Kent County Commissioners’ meeting, September 2018 was proclaimed as United Way Month in Kent County. UWKC Board President Glenn Wilson spoke briefly about the $210,000 2017-18 campaign goal that was recently reached. He also stressed that the new 2018-19 goal of $225,000, while ambitious, is necessary to continue the work UWKC is doing around the Comprehensive Needs Assessment it published last winter. He said the public could see all of the programs United Way supports in Kent County on Friday, September 7th at the “Chestertown United” themed First Friday event, where all UWKC Member Agencies will line High Street. Commissioner Fithian read the proclamation, which was accepted by Mr. Wilson, senior Board member Mary Fisher, Secretary Marilyn Parks and Executive Director Beth Everett.
