The United Way Annual Meeting was a good gathering of representatives and volunteers from the United Way board and member agencies. According to Bill Noll, United Way of Kent County Board President, United Way is due in part to its generous donors economically sound. "We have reached our goal for the current campaign year, all member agencies will receive full allocation." This is important because "the country - and in particular Kent County is experiencing difficult times... the need for investing in youth, crisis intervention, emergency services and fostering self-sufficiency, has never been greater". But none of this is possible without the member agencies and their volunteers, and at the meeting 23 of them were honored with an United Way umbrella.
