Kent County Medical Adult Day Care

provides daily social opportunities for adults with disability and medical needs. United Way funds enable volunteers to take disabled adults on outings and provide special meals and activities.

The Samaritan Group

Agency Spotlight:

Samaritan Group, Kent County

Summer 2011...Samaritan Group of Kent County reports on its assistance to those in need this past winter as well as on-going support during the summer months..."Since the shelter is only open for three winter months, we provide financial assistance the rest of the year to the needy of our community through the Local Outreach Program. We are continuing to assist clients with monies for rent, propane, electric, housing, utility bills, prescription medications, food and gas. Our work does not end nor does the need for your contributions."

On United Way support:

"The annual support we receive from United Way is invaluable not only for running our 3 month Emergency Winter Shelter, but also for allowing us to help people throughout the rest of the year. When the weather warms up people still need temporary housing. And especially in this economy, more people need to ask for help with basic needs - rent, medicine, electric, propane. Thanks to the strong support from our community through the United Way, we are able to help the less fortunate in Kent County."
